Plot in 25 Words: A gold-digger marries a rich man for his money, but finds that she really love shim and wants to keep him despite his family’s disapproval.
In My Opinion: Well. This film surprised me. I read the very vague blurb and prepared myself for a fairly standard generic film. Gold-digger marries rich man, rich man’s family pay her off, years pass and she comes to the realisation that she’s (penniless) in love with him.
And that’s mostly accurate with one dark twist. While the rich man’s family are in the process of paying off the gold-digger, they have a bit of a fight. And as we learned in Death Becomes Her, a fall down a flight of stairs is no good for anybody!
Some minor brain damage later and the film is back on track as advertised. Not a particularly original film but I did like the darker take on it!
Star Performer: Phillips Holmes as David Stone. The target of the gold-digger’s attentions. Not overly outstanding but his post-staircase tumble David Stone was rather sweet.
Overall: Meh. Not a bad film. Not a great one either.
