Plot in 25 Words: A classic piece of literature gets the Hollywood treatment. Wonderfully to the book with only some minor squabbles missing. A wonderful film with wonderful acting.
In My Opinion: Little Women is one of my all-time favourite books so I was filled with some trepidation. There’s nothing I hate more then terrible film adaptations of books I love.
I needn’t have worried.
There was some minor things missing but I loved it. Katherine Hepburn was just perfect as tomboy Jo.
I cried with the deaths and laughed at the squabbles.
The sets were spectacular and the costumes perfect. The acting was mostly sublime and my only disagreement with it would be the ages of several of the ‘women’.
Just wonderful.
Star Performer: It’s a tie. Katherine Hepburn was a perfect Jo, but Edna May Oliver as Aunt March was a delight. A proper crotchety old dame.
Overall: Loved it. Completely.
